The 2022 Memorial Day Weekend in Miami Beach did not disappoint. No matter what part of Miami Beach, Downtown, Brickell, Wynwood, Edgewater or Midtown you live – you were getting buzzed with the undeniable sound of Military Jets stretching past followed by the Sonic Boom. It felt as though we had our own live version of TOP GUN right here in Miami!

Hyundai Air and Sea Show

Sponsored by Hyundai, “The Greatest Show Above the Earth” showcases the men, women, technology and equipment from all five branches of the United States Military as well as our police, firefighters and their first responder agencies from all over Miami. This two-day spectacular event on Memorial Day Weekend features the Cigarette offshore powerboat racing exhibition, extreme water sports, military display village and more, all on the beautiful shores of Miami Beach.

We watched the show from both the Beach and also rooftop on Ocean Drive. Our views were spectacular as the military jets performed fly by after fly by and entertained us all. One of our favorites was the vintage Jet flown in unison with the F18 – of course the F18 had to throttle all the way back to keep pace with the vintage jet. This years show was incredible with a crowd to match. In the past, MDW has been synonymous with raucous crowds, arrests and violence. This year we had none of that. Kudos to the City of Miami Beach, Miami Beach Police Department, Hyundai and of course the US Military.
